There is a good essay on turbochargers vs. superchargers at:
http://www.ddsystems.co.za/autotvs.htm

Also visit http://www.perfectpower.co.za/ for tons of good descriptive
info on all kinds of performance related stuff.

I found this via a web search and I am now just "passing it on" to the
list.

Used to buy parts for turbochargers (Garrett, or, for some of you,
AiResearch) while I lived in Japan. Don't know a whole lot about how
each of
them works, but when I asked some of our engineers about which was
better,
they all said that a turbocharger was better (surprise). You get better
low-end performance with a supercharger, but a turbocharger was much
better
at speed. At least that is what they told me. At the time, I was more
interested in castings and machining than performance.

There is alot of talk about the supercharger...but has anyone heard
ANYTHING about a turbocharger. The only reason I ask is that I have an
air conditioner right where the supercharger is supposed to go. Any
insight would be appreciated...
