Not all that hard, use Mazda pistons (can't tell you exactly which one, but
there are a number of 2.7/2.8 ltr Triumphs down here (but don't expect them
to rev like the 2ltr)

You need 2.5ltr pistons, crank, and possibly rods (not sure on the last),
and a head that will give you a lower CR

The TR6 non overdrive box will go in with no mods to the frame. The rear
housing of the box will need to be modded to take GT6 type mounts, and a
new mounting plate constructed to siut (bolts in the car). The clutch
actuation lever on the box must be bent in a Z (sort of) shape, back toward
the box to clear the chassis rail, and the clutch slave cylinder mounting
plate modified to make the cylinder line up with the lever. The tailshaft
will be shorter, but the flanges are identical. Last of all, shorten the
gearlever.

How do I know this, the GT6 used to have this box in it (the gearbox that
was in the car when it cam from the states was U/S), now it has a OD TR6
type box!(you do need to do a little welding to fit that in - but not that
much if you use a J type O/D)

Forget that, put the Datsun diff in - no problems with 180 bhp+

Personally I don't consider this "ruining" a car, as you say "it's yours",
plus your just doingthe development the factory never had a chance to do!!!
