TR6 switches and more

What should be done about painting the door jamb switches for a TR6. 
Should they be body color, some other color, or not painted?

Also, does anyone know what the thread size is for:1) the EGR valve (where
it mounts to the manifold) on a 76 TR6; 2) the fitting that attaches to the
intake manifold (adaptor) that holds the EGR pipe?
