Yes, there is a recommended sealer. I believe TRF sells it. I also think
that the original TR3 shop manual mentions it. I've done many engines, never
used any at all, and never had any problem. Cleanliness is the answer.

What do you mean when you say the shop is about to press in the liners. They
should go in by hand. If they are really pressing them in, there may be a
problem.
