The fuel tank on my '64 Sports 6 has two small pinholes near where the fuel
drain pipe exits the bottom of the tank. The tank is otherwise in excellent
shape. The tank is out and I filled it with water prior to sandblasting it.
The holes occured as a result of corrosion from where the tank contacts the
foam body seal. I remember some discussion of soldering fuel tanks but don't
remember what the consensis was. What type of solder / flux is used and
what measures are needed to avoid an explosion? . I'm a little leary of
epoxy repairs because the tank is a pain in the butt to get out and when I
replace it I'd hate to have to pull it back out over a leak. Thanks for any
advice.
