Hi Sumner,

I'm not too suprised that your 3B came without one but a guy I know
has a 3A which is older than mine and his car doesn't have one either.
There's a forked bracket where it should be but the line from the gas
tank just passes through it and the bracket was kind of pinched closed.

For what it's worth, I've used a pair if vise-grips to pinch the rubber
hose closed when I have removed the bowl. Trick is to close the vise-grips
down tight enough so they'll lock but not so tight as to damage the hose.
I have seen something called "hose pliers" in catalogs. They're kind of
like a combination of a pair of pliers and an old fashioned nut cracker.
The buisness end of the tool is an elongated loop of heavy wire which will
pinch on the hose and close it off. There a latch on the handle end to
hold the things closed. I think these may be available in most auto parts
houses and shouldn't be too expensive.
