To me this seems a long way of doing it, all you need is a drill and a drill
bit slightly bigger than the internal diameter of the metal sleeve, then drill
'through' the sleeve, the heat breaks it away from the rubber and the rubber
bit pushes out not problem, about 15 seconds work!!!
