Wonder what difference just the Sports Coil would have made? I put the
Crane system on my 6 three years ago and it went bad after a week.I got
the pick up replaced, but never bothered to reinstall it. I found
starting etc was just as good with points when I had the Sports coil in
there with a 12 v input. Car still starts right up after sitting for
several weeks in the winter. I also gapped my plugs at 0.035". I can see
if the dissy lobes are really worn, or the bushing is shot where the
Crane would be a definite advantage, but my dwell is only varying 2
degrees with points.
