Bob,
I had the same problem with the HS2's on my spitfire. My problem
turned out to be the way I had inserted the jet needles into the
damper. I pushed them all the way in and tightened the screw. In
actuallity, they are supposed to have the shoulder flush with the
bottom of the damper. After making that ajustment I just had to
retune the carbs again and I can now idle down to about 500, rough
but still stays running. I'm betting this is your problem.
