If there is not enough internal resistance, you could fry your 
electronics in your new ingition box.

Go to radio shack and spend $20 on a cheap-o digital multimeter. It is a 
good investment.

They all have a built in ballast resistor _ in the wiring harness _, it's 
the white/red wire with the cloth wrapping around it. I think for your 
install, the red wire is the power for the circuit in your distributor... 
you want to connect to red to the + side to get the full twelve volts to 
the electronic ignition... make sure that you understand what you are 
doing before you proceed so that you can be sure that you do not fry your 
new elcetronics.
