No. (But you could be lucky.)

You may be able to see what's wrong from underneath the car, but you
probably couldn't fix it from that position. It's best to remove everything
covering the transmission tunnel. Then, from the comfort of the driver's or
passenger's seat, you should be able to see what's broken or disconnected.

There's a spring-thingy that holds the stickshift in place by clamping 2
pins down into grooves in the shift linkage extension. (I had to undo it to
remove the engine/tanny, so I'm going from memory.) It's possible that one
of the screws that secures the spring-thingy has come loose. In this case,
you may only need a new screw. Or, the spring-thingy could have broken. Or,
the link that the shifter moves could be disconnected (no experience there).
