Right in my parking spot. Not five days ago I was working in the
spot until 6am changing the head gasket in my 1970MGB.
My building is fairly lax. The parking spot next to mine has two
guys that are ALWAYS working on their motorcycles, and a spot on the
next level down has a pair of mustangs in various states of repair.
It helps to be nice, whenever anyone walks by and I am working
on the car I love to chat and offer people rides and things. I figure
this is my insurance in case somebody complains, I can find five times
as many friends as enemies. I also help other parking lot residents
with simple repairs like door latches and so on, because I always
have a big trolley of tools with me.
About the only catches are that I don't have electric power, and
I can't really paint without overspraying my neighbors cars. I've
done touch up painting in spots but I wish I could weld and spray
here at home. That is why I still lean on my parents for a suburbian
parking spot.
