Ken,
I did this about 10 years ago. I used a small file to file doen the
braded areas of the bolt just enough to get the "star" shaped wash past.
After that, it was a breeze!

Does anybody out there know how to disassemble the
oil pressure relief/bypass spring assembly that is
integrated with the stock oil canister on the TR6?
I would like to be able to disassemble this
completely, but can't see how to do it from either
the Bentley or Haynes manuals.
Anybody successfully dismantled (and reassembled)
this before?
