I have noticed this. Maybe this is why Signal Red is sometimes
referred to as Resale Red? Myself, I usually vote for Primrose
Yellow or light blue cars. This phenomenon does occasionally
backfire, though: my yellow GT6 recently tied for second place
in its class in a participant's choice show. When I commented
to the owner of the fourth place car that I was surprised that
my Triumph actually received more votes than a red Healey
convertible, we concluded that it was probably because there
were a bunch of red Healeys at the show and only one yellow
GT6. Sometimes driving something a little different has its
rewards.
