I'll preface this by saying you can hit the "DELETE" button at any time.
In reading the miata related thread, I am reminded of a talk with a pre-baby
boomer (1946 is my DOB) who looked askance at the GTO, Galaxy 500, etc
generation of hot cars. He had built his first from a 32 ford coupe into
which he shoehorned a cadillac v8. Converted a 4 speed crash box tranny for
speed shifting by hooking a bed spring to the passanger's door frame. He
maintained that the "newer" car owners were just drivers.
This is the 3rd LBC and 2nd tr I've owned. On the other 2, long ago, I was
also just a driver. The TR4 caught my heart and these many yrs later I
returned to it and am glad. So, I would agree, we should wait. The mettle
of a true classic is the ability to draw you back. How many of the new
miata, etc owners will buy a wreck someday and bring the dream back to life?
Wait and see.
