Is it true that "backfire" and unburned fuel in exhausts are the
same...the text below suggests that backfire damages the muffler...but
seems to me to be a different issue/problem...

     Any thoughts from the list????

When my carbs where running rich, My Tr-6 would often back fire
sending small children and fury animals scurrying. This trashed the
muffler, and I'm sure it didn't help the carbs much
either.
