I'm on some of "those" lists. I regret I don't remember the
details, but one of the magazines that cater to these did a
comparison of all of these performance wires using a dyno
and a few cars.
Their findings were basically that using more-or-less stock
cars, no wires were found to make any difference at all. This
sort of agrees with what I would beleive as an Engineer, but
good to see it in print, I wished I remembered more details.
Essentially, I think these wires fall into the same category
as a lot of oil products. The oil products are installed
with fresh oil at an oil change, and the car seems smoother
so the product gets a devoted preacher. Or, performance
wires are installed in place of old cracked oily stock
wires, and improvement is noticed. But either gain would
also be realized with just new stock wires or new oil.
