Hi, all. The reason I suggested changing to the 20W50 is this. I Don't
drive mt tr6 in the nasty New Engalnd winters. So, in the fall before it
gets put away, I change the oil over to 10w30. This is so I can start it
and let it warm up in the garage. Ever try to start a car wtih 20w50 oil
that's been sitting in 10d.f. for 2 weeks?
Anyway the thinner oil saves me buying batteries and starters. But it
exhibits exactly the behaviour described- plently of oil pressure at
cold idle, drops to 25 lbs. at idle when warm. With the Castrol 20w50 it
never goes below 50 lbs at hot idle, and this is with 70d.f. out side
air temps.
