Be sure to check with the PO (Previous owner) as to whether the cam is
the original. A degree wheel, or any cam timing device or method,
cannot be fully useful if you do not know the cam timing SPECS.
Original cam timing specs are available, but a hot cam from HoeBumps Hot
Rod Shop in Riverside could be hard to time without knowing what crank
position is set at what lift on which lifter.
And do not assume that the chain wheel marks are correct. It is a good
idea to replace chain and gears at the same time.
Best wishes on it. And remember, if you replace the cam, REPLACE THE
LIFTERS. Otherwise you new cam will be destroyed in short order.
