Doug,
You have attained the ultimate in frustraing situations. Unfortunatly
your old m/c and the nut and bolt are not fastened to the car. The bolt
and nut don't have a steel line attached to them. If you can remove(as I
am asssuming that m/c is mounted in vehicle) one of the bolts and loosen
the other bolt so you have a little bit of movement for alignment. And
try starting your line fitting this way. If all else fails, remove m/c
and thread fitting into m/c.
These may or may not work, but be persistant and you will prevail.
