TR 6 Valve Stem Oil Seals

I was wondering if anyone on the list has any first hand expierience with
installing valve stem oil seals. I know that Kipping across the pond sells a
set that will fit the GT6/TR 6 but was hoping to find something domestic. Is
the tolerance between the guide and the valve stem tight enough that they
aren't required?
