Phil -
I made a trip down to my local paint shop and got them to dig out the
color chart books that they keep behind the counter. I looked through
dozens of color chips and I think I've found the BRG that I like. It
was in a Glasurit book and was in the BMC section of the book. The
color is called British Racing Green (!) and the code is Glasurit GN
25 BMC 607.
The formula for this color is as follows:
10.0% SIKK 705-15 (I think this must be a base)
26.4% M 60 Oxide Green (The "M" means it is a mixing color, as opposed
to a tinting color. The distinction is lost to me)
19.3% M 96 Dark Green
12.7% M 2 Black
31.7% M 43 Yellow Green
I found about a half dozen colors called BRG and they were spread
around the book under Jaguar, BMC, Triumph, and Morris.
The color I like happened to be the lightest of the lot, while my
original color, Laurel Green, was next to the darkest. I thought the
Jaguar BRG was nearly as dark as the Laurel, but less "muddy".
It might be worth your while to go check out your local paint shop and
look at the color chips.
