Hi,

I came across a "deal" on a set of DCOE 40 Webers for my TR6. At any
rate, the install on the donor car was more or less a "hack", and I'm
trying to sort a few things out.

This particular installation has two air cleaners (K&N oval style) that
are 3" tall and one that was 3" tall but it has been cut down to around 2
inches.

I tried looking for pictures of TR6 Weber installs, but so far I have
only seen one. It is the picture in one of the Moss catalogs. In that
picture, it looks like they sell the Weber "kit" with 1.75" tall filters.

My questions are: can anybody out there in net land that has a set of
Webers tell me what size air cleaners are on thier TR6's? Further, can
someone tell me a K&N part number for the "correct" air cleaners?

My long term goal is to buy one or more filter housings from "Racer
Wholesale", but the RW catalog page for K&N is confusing me.

Note: my webers have the velocity stacks, but it appears that the stacks
only protrude about 1.5" from the mouth of the carb. So I think the
correct filters are the shorter ones.

Also note: the 3" tall filters seem to clear the body okay, but I'd have
to remove the entire intake manifold to change the filters! I don't think
this is the proper method...

thanks for any input,
rml

note: anybody got a line on copper manifold gaskets? ;-)
