Although TeriAnn and a couple of the other B'rs out ther might disagree,
The A&B are basically the same car. When Triumph decided to change to the
TR4 body style American dealers lamented that the new styling wouldn't
catch on here in the states. So Triumph moved all of their tooling, etc
and extra parts to a different location (Forward Radiator?) and put
together about another 3000 cars - All exported to the states. The major
difference was inthe engine/transmission areas - They used the larger bore
TR4 engine and some have the fully synchro'd TR4 transmission.
Since I have an 'A, I am sure the list will correct me if I am wrong on
the last point.
Actually, the TR2 - TR3 - TR3A - TR3B (1953-1962) is really just the aging
of the same car. Each modification improving (hopefully) what was before
but not changing the nature of the last sidescreen (read "true") roadster.
