Hi all, 2 cents worth based on experience.

I found NGK BPR 6ES plugs cheap and most effective. In Canada, Champions
last for about 2 months at most - also confirmed by TR3 and 4 owners -
misfired develop quickly. Bosch Platinums work fine so long as you don't
burn any oil (hah, tha's a good one!) but are expensive.

For the budget unlimited, the splitfire style plugs work even better than
the standard NGK's. But hey, who doesn't enjoy pulling the plugs and
cleaning / changing them every other weekend or so? You can afford to
replace the cheapies that ogten, or just have a spare set cleaned and ready
to go. The NGK's dont mind being wire brushed it seems.

Where there's a spark, hopefully the SU fuel pump still works (sorry MG
aficianados).
PS: Ethanol 10% does wonders fro the '6 until about 75 f. Burns cleaner too.
