List,

I am trying to determine what brand and size of tire I should replace my
redlines with. I am going to drive the TR6 as a daily driver May through
October and on "good" days the rest of the year. I live in New England but
do not expect to drive the car in the snow. The PO had 195 75 R15s on the
rear and Michelin 185 R 15 redlines on the front. Is there some advantage
to running lager tires in the rear? I will be driving the car mostly
highway mileage with a some in town driving. What I would like is a tire
that will handle well and be fairly durable. I understand that the
Michelin Redlines look the best and wear well but do not provide the best
handling. Does anyone know what the widest tire can be put on the TR
without interfering with the frame, wheel wells or front end components?
What does the list recommend for a brand name? I have read in the TRF
catalogs that "Yokahama" tires provide very good traction but don't last
very long due their soft rubber. Thank you in advance for any and all
responses.
