Have you removed the inspection plate at the base of the bellhousing ? I
had the same problem when removing my engine and finally noticed that the
cresent shaped sheet metal plate across the bottom of the bellhousing
entraps the flywheel and does not allow separation of the engine. This is
very easy to miss.
