Julian-

Sounds like you are not getting a full throw on the release bearing. This can
be caused by several hydraulic problems, but you seem to have replaced the
obvious ones. The only one you have overlooked is the rubber hydraulic hose
between the master and slave cylinders. This poor little puppy lives in an
environment wherein the chances of becoming oil soaked vary directly with the
chances of the motor running. Oftimes the hose will become so soft and
deteriorated by the oil that it will swell about twice its normal size when
the clutch pedal is depressed. This action severly lessens the available
volume and pressure going to the slave cyl. So, the next item to replace
would be this hose. If you want to go with the "trick" setup, get one of the
steel braided hose assemblys which should cure that problem from ever
occurring in the future.
If this is not your problem, look at all the clevis joints on the linkage. A
little play in each one will add up to enough play to cause your problem.

If niether of these suggestions fix the problem, remember...you didn't hear
it here.
