Are You shure it's a Roots type and not a vane type? Vane type
blowers from Shorrock was a (very expensive) extra available to
those who alvays want MORE and yet MORE... Int. sec Leon Guyot in
The Sports Six Club of Britain has one on his Herald among others.
My guess is that it is a Shorrock vane compressor You've got...

Lucky You - I'd give an arm and a leg for a true set for my Spit.
(Mind You, I've got about ten or so Marshal made Roots type blowers
on the shelf in my garage - but they are not the period accessory
- Yours might be...)
