Another 'old mechanic's' trick is to use power steering fluid to free up
frozen parts.  I keep an oil can filled with the stuff for the purpose of
drenching offending parts or assemblies.  Let it sit overnight at the most
but PS fluid seems to penetrate as well or better than stuff designed for
the purpose....it's more viscous so it usually takes a bit longer...but
slow and steady seems to apply.
