Some of you that have been on the list for more than a year may recall
my posting from last year, describing my first TR6 oil change
experience. (An experience common to all TR6 owners, as re-emphasized
by the recent quarterly discussion on TR6 oil filter changing...)
After my second TR6 oil change last fall, I decided to break down, and
order a spin-on filter adapter kit from TRF. It had sat unused,
in the box, until this last Saturday night, when I decided I'd
install it in the TR6 to simplify the oil changing ritual, as
well as leave myself with one spare OEM-style oil filter, just in
case...
To make the long story short, my "spare" OEM-style oil filter is in my
car with the new oil, and the spin-on filter kit is back in the box,
on my shelf, but much more oily than it was last week!
I don't see anyway to get the spin-on kit on my car without re-routing
something.
It appears to me that it *must* be the case that the spin-on filter
should be rotated about 15 degrees towards the front of the car, in
order to keep from conflicting with the clutch slave cylinder.
However, when I rotate my spin-on filter forward in this manner, my
fuel line is in the way! Is this the normal place for the fuel line
routing?
