Thanks to all of those who have contributed.....
Well, just to clarify...I have a newly recored radiator, new shroud, new
thermostat (160 degree), new water pump, new cogged fan belt, new thermostat
housing, new hoses, and a reconditioned water pump housing(cleaned and
sandblasted). So when I said that I had a new cooling system, I meant it. :-)
I am currently running a water/antifreeze mixture of 50/50 and will
correct this (as advised on the list) to 70/30 ASAP.
One thing that was news to me was the interaction of the thermostat
(original type with sleeve) and the bypass hose. I do not have an original
type with a bypass hose (now, I've got something to scrounge for during my
holiday to the U.K.), nor do I know where to get one, nor have I've seen one
in my 18 years of TR's.
I will try the waterwettor (sp?) immediately and conduct a few tests to
quantify.
Depending on my results, I will next try the oil cooler. Also, I'm
going to try to fabricate a cold box to bring cooler air to the intakes and
keep the performance up a bit.
Again, Thanks!

Yes...I really do wear a Nomex flight suit to work everyday...to keep the
flames off!
