I would question whether your authentic LAT headers are really authentic.
The original LAT headers, as you can see in the brochure picture, connected
the stock exhaust system via a tight right-angle fitting into the
collectors. For track use you would remove the block-off plate from the
end of the collector. For street use the block off plate would stay on and
the exhaust would have to go around the tight right-angle bend. That setup
was good for the track but really lousy for the street. I suspect that
your "authentic" headers don't incorporate the right-angle feature and
therefore would fail any authenticity test with flying colors. As to the
color and finish on the LAT headers, I had LAT headers on my car for some
time and it's my recollection that they were satin black. The original
color doesn't matter much, though, because the paint burnt off in no time.
