Hello Larry:
It's been about five years since the last clean up/needle paint but I'm
pretty sure it's Krylon SCB-022 Glow Orange. I think that Margaret at
Mo-Ma had told me about the color and brand years ago.

I do plan on letting the needles dry out for at least a couple of days
when I paint them this time. In the past I've put the gauges back
together shortly after I painted them. I'm not sure if the initial
drying time is the problem though. The gauge glass inside has stayed
clean for the first couple of years after I paint the needles, every
time I've done it. It seems to start to get cloudy three or four years
after the job gets done so maybe it is the fading/deterioration of the
paint later that causes something to leach out and cloud things up. I'm
definitely going to apply Rain x anti-fog to the glass this time to see
if that helps.

Now, everyone stay right next to your computer screens as I'll let
everyone know sometime in 2012 or 2013 how the Rain x worked out!

Thanks to everyone for all the excellent ideas so far.

Steve Sage
