Interesting with all the chat about oil coolers. My nephew had one of the
1st generation MR-2's. It had an oil cooler that was integral with the
cooling system. Basically there was a bulge in the radiator hose... (really
a radiator pipe). The oil passed through and transferred heat to the
cooling system. This leaves me to ponder three things:

1. Apparently Toyota had no problem with the oil adding to the heat load of
the cooling system.
2. Apparently 220-250 degree oil can benefit from a quick pass by 180 degree
coolant.
3. This system actually brings oil up to temp faster adding to fuel mileage
and at least from a cold start, more power.
4. I'll add a fourth. Why did my nephew replace the motor (and then
immediately replaced it again when that one was bad)? I told him to check
for the oil cooler in the first place (which did proved to be bad)? I guess
because back then he wore his cap backwards. Come to thing about it, it
wasn't the cap, it was his head that wasn't screwed on straight!

Tom :-)
