I've heard from a friend that he would prep his old Lotus race car for the winter by pouring some transmission oil into the carb during the last few breaths of the running car before shutting it down for the winter. Apparently he said tranmission oil burns off much easier than motor oil once restarted again, and provides a good layer of lubrication/protection for the carb and the cylinders during the long NY winter. Anyone heard of this? |
