Well they're not original, but from what I've seen in UK magazine
advertising, there is little stigma associated with having a quality new
bodyshell wrapped around the original drivetrain and suspension pieces. As I
understand it there is a points system that their MOT uses to qualify a
vehicle as being "correct" from a titling and emissions perspective, and it
allows substitution of an old rusty or broken bodyshell with a brand new
(i.e. made for the purpose) bodyshell, provided a significant number of
suspension and drivetrain components accompany the VIN plate from the old
shell to the new one. The old shell has to be legally destroyed.
