Jim,
It's the reverse of the instructions I posted for removal
(almost). Clean and wax area thoroughly. Put the letter
posts in the appropriate holes (The "S" is the left-most
letter {9->), one letter at a time. There are two
posts/letter. On the back-side, inside the trunk, slip the
rubber washers over the chrome posts. Then put the "D"
shaped metal washers on, with the "flats" facing each
other. The rectangular speed clips are put on last. The
bend is to the outside, with the gripping feet the last to
touch the post. Push them on from both sides of the clip,
while holding the letter in place. This should be a slip-on
job and hold firmly at the end of the push. If it doesn't,
something is wrong.
Be careful with the flatter trunk metal areas, as they can
take a bend with hand pressure. So support the trunk on the
doubler panels with wide hands.
That's it.
Oh yes, the next letter is "U". {9->
