The 5 Blade, 6 blade discusssion, I believe, misses a very important
point about the 6 blade Ford fan. Even though the blade count is even,
the blade circumferential locations are not.
They are not equally spaced , to give balance by symmetry. The purpose
behind this madness is purported to be to cause a slowly rotating
vortex, or swirl, to the air flow, rather than uniform path.
This may be true, and probably has great significance, because they went
to a lot of trouble to do it, but I don't really understand why.
Here's a whole field of cooling science yet to be 'splained to the
unwashed masses. Have a go at it.
