Ron Baby,
Which Martin-Logans do you have?
I have a pair of Monoliths I bought back in 1988. Love 'em. Terribly
inefficient and lack the punch of conventional cone speakers but nothing
matches them for detail. I have them bi-amped through Threshold
electronics and power them with a Threshold S-500 for thte panels and a
Levinson ML-3 for the sub-woofers. For vinyl I use a Denon-DP-75 with a
Signet arm and a Monster Cable cartridge.
I have a second system which is a throw-back to the 70's: A Mac system
(before the days that Apple was even a concept) consisting of a 2105,
MR-74, MI-3 scope, and a C-28 which sounds like crap and is bypassed by
a Levinson ML-7. For speakers I run 4 JBL Aquarius Q omni-directional
towers.
I'm hooking a system as we speak in our den: Another Levinson ML-7, 2
Mac 2100's and 2 sets of NHT 1.1's with 2 sub-woofers. Might overpower
the room but .....................
