Cogent observation. 1/4" elliptic are great town cars for zipping in and out of traffic on decent roads. You'll loose some of the above mentioned lower speed tossability for sure, but if you want to stabilze that 1/4 elliptic rear end with regards to highway speeds... well, providing everything is tight and as it should be back there and all else being equal, install a front sway bar to take out a bit of the oversteer "tendency" (especially over uneven surfaces) by introducing a little "understeer" to the general set-up.
