I tried a HIF6 on a) a Titan manifold and b) a Russell Engineering Manifold.
It was a very nice setup. I was very happy with it on a hot road 1380 (Kent
266
cam, 10:1, 1.5 rockers, Longman GT6 head).
I used it on the road and various competition road events and it was an
excellent
all-round setup. In one event that went up into the snow resorts
(altitude/temp),
I had a well-running car when all the Weber dudes were having all sorts of
problems.
However, I did pull the setup off the car once the state of tune progressed
to full race head, 296 cam. I ended up running a DCOE45 on a Russell manifold
and HP products LCB extractors/muffler.
HP Products have a beautiful K&N filter housing for the HIF6 that includes a
radiused inner plate.
I'd happily go back to the setup for a road or hot road car. It works well,
it is a very well made Carb, is self-adjusting for temp, and no balancing
required!!!
