I own spitfires with this engine and have not had any problems.  I have
problems with my 948 in my sprite right now.  I think it is all on how you
take care of the engine.  Who knows what the PO did (or didn't) do.

I know several people who own a sunbeam with a Ford engine and they don't
mind.  I think it was called the Sunbeam Tiger.
