Chuck: Eric is right, but I would add that the piston comes up twice for every time it fires. So you need to select a firing stroke, which you can do by looking at the valve positions (see a Haynes book). With the number 1 piston at top dead center on a firing stroke, you can rotate the dizzy until you just see a spark at the gap, and then you have approximately 0 degrees timing. It will get you running reasonably enough t go on from there. Daryl |
