Everytime I get gas (for the car, that is) someone always tells me they
either had a Sprite or someone close to them did, and that they wish they'd
never sold it. People know what it is!
Check out Peter Egan's column in Road & Track for a great take on "where
have all the cool cheap cars gone". Bugeye, Mini, and Beetle mentioned
mostly. Did you know John Lennon had a Mini (probably you did know that),
and Julian his son had (has) a Bugeye?
