On this tranny there
doesn't even look like there a cutout for it. Is there some secret location
for a reverse switch on the 69 spit?

I seem to recall on my old '69 Mk3 that the backup light switch was on a
bracket mounted on top of the gearbox, forward of the shift extension. An
eccentric "cam" lobe of sorts was mounted on the shift rail in the extension,
and
that engaged/disengaged the switch at the appropriate time.

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
