Cool. But "KC51640 LO " would make it a 1969 model GT6+. How is it titled?
;-)
Andy,
The PO referred to it as a very late 68, therefore a GT6+. I think the
MK2's and Plus's started at commission #KC50001, mid to late 68. It is titled
as
a 68. A few guys have already argued that 68 was MK1 only? Body # is 80268
KD. No clue on that, might have came from one of my old Spits? Nice clean
tag though. The engine # has been milled away, but it is the 70 motor. The
70 was KC810880 L. BTW I am cheating on the O part above too! OD is a must!
The beauty of Modified, No Rules.
Really both cars were JUNK! So I have at least put another Triumph on the
road from parts. For the effort I could most likely have bought two
perfectly original GT's but what fun is that? The frame is 68, the body and
motor is
70, the interior is new repro, with the 70 seats that fold back and the dash
is 68. Yes, FYI, all the lenses in the rear are the unique 70 variety, up
front the grill is 68 and the lenses are Euro MK2 spec. No side lights like
the
GT6 MK2. It was kind of fun!
