The wings are spot welded at the joint to the rear deck on top and rear
valance on the rear. They are also welded (or Braxed) onto the B Post.
If the fenders are otherwise in good condition, you might consider just
cutting off those flares and splicing in the openings from the used fenders.
That would save the trouble of removing the rear capper and replacing that.
There is a crimping tool available at most body supply stores that offsets
metal on splice panels so that it ends up being a flush joint rather than a
lap joint.
