Todd,
I had a similar problem on my Midget, turned out that the seals were
hanging up inside the bore of the master cylinder. If your clutch
hydraulics were sitting for any length of time without fluid you could
have gotten surface rust inside.
Check the pivot first, though. They due tend to seize up over time.
