The clutch pedal pivots on a shaft, A rod that joins the pedal to the
hydraulic cylinder, and has a return spring that helps pull it up. It's
quite plausible to have enough wear and lack of lubrication here to
result in binding.
The same problem can happen down at the throwout linkage area. But
this is a bit less likely due to the typical Triumph oil leaks helping
to keep things lubricated.
With the aid of someone pushing the pedal repeatedly, I'd be examining
these areas closely for smooth motion.
